Harlequin Office Furniture

Alfred McAlpines

Project

The furnishing of their new Regional Head Office in Barlborough

Objective

To supply a range of furniture fit for purpose for the different departments who are to occupy the building with emphasis on the layout to encourage communication between staff and to provide seating solutions which conform to E.C. legislation and that the user can easily adjust where appropriate to offer ergonomic support where needed. Some existing storage was to be re-used as it was virtually new and therefore the new units had to match.

Our Aim

Was to ensure that the recommendations we proposed fit both the clients specification and expectation and where possible we endeavoured to exceed them. The delivery and installation dates were tight but we had to guarantee that the deadline was met.

The Solution

Working together with the Client we produced visuals for them both in 2D and 3D colour together with story boards and pilot work schemes finished in their chosen colours. As Mike had correctly pointed out, the choice of task chair was of vital importance so we arranged an “Ergonomic Workshop” at their existing premises so we could appraise the staff’s exact requirements and take into account any specific needs and were therefore able to recommend a mixture of seating solutions.
